Ms. Kimberly passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her residence in Mansura at Oakmont Estates.
Vivian was born in New Orleans, LA to Sylvia Watts and John Kimberly on November 19, 1946. She lived in Hessmer completing the 1 st grade and grew up in New Orleans attending St. Dominic Catholic Elementary School then graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic Academy. She attended LSUNO and later LSU. In 1966, her beloved mother Sylvia, passed away at age 40 from cancer. This left Vivian with a great void and a feeling of loss in her life, but with determination along with her faith, this gave her strength to go forward to have a successful life and career. Vivian spent over 30 years in the work force, most of them with the Social Security Office Court of Appeals in New Orleans, retiring in July of 2006. In 2009, as she became older and feeling less secure of her surroundings, she returned to Avoyelles to be closer to family. Vivian was a unique individual, short in stature, but with a loving and kind heart that was strong and sincere to her family and friends. In 2015, Vivian made another move in her life to Oakmont Estates Assisted Living Community where she felt loved and cared for by family, management, staff, and also the other residents.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sylvia Watts DiMaggio, her stepfather, Nunzio "Joe" DiMaggio, grandparents, Merlin and Aline Watts, and Uncle Melvin and Aunt Maxine Ducote.
Ms. Kimberly is survived by two first cousins, Kenneth (Janis) Ducote of Fifth Ward, their daughter, Krystle Ducote (Shaun) Reynaud and their son Brendon, and Joey (Dr. Garnetta) Ducote of Knoxville, TN and their children Matthew and Megan Ducote, and numerous other cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, mass intentions may be submitted in her name.
