Funeral services for Gin Carter will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Church of Christ in Turkey Creek with Bros. Jamie Roberts and Joe Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pratt Cemetery in Clearwater.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Carter, age 91 of Clearwater, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at her residence.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Jenkins and Joel Carter; her parents, Herbert and Leacy Clark Hazelton; brothers, Marion and J.D. Hazelton; and sisters, Verlie Clark, Betty Johnson and Yvonne King.

Survivor include her sons; Ronald Jenkins (Sherry) of Lone Pine, Joseph Jenkins (Martha) of St. Landry and Phillip Jenkins (Kristie) of Clearwater; daughters Diane Mabou (James) of Clearwater, Peggy Newsom (Bobby) of Jeanerette and Sally West (Wilford) of Pine Prairie; step-sons, Phil Carter (Faye) of Alexandria, Kevin Carter (Cathy) of Hineston and Troy Carter (Rachel) of Hineston; her brother, Nolan Hazelton; 27 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ.
