Funeral services for Velma Walton will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the First Pentecostal Church of Melville with the Bro. Samuel Ham officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Jacque Pentecostal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Walton, age 85 of Bayou Jacque, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Opelousas General Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Yank" Walton; her parents, Stafford and Julia Deshotel Jolibois; and brothers, Cedo and Euna Jolibois.

Survivors include her sons, Fred Walton and wife Marlyn of St. Amant and Perry Walton and wife Dena of Walker; her daughter, Tracey Boudreaux and husband Darrel of Melville; brother, Lloyd Jolibois and wife Vicki of Central; sisters, Viola Sturges of Baton Rouge, Claudette Dupuy of Zachary, and Judy Douglas and husband Don of Watson; her grandchildren, Kim Swarts, Wendy Boyd, Brady Walton, Colby Walton, Misty Bailey, Jacque Deville and Jeanne Dupre; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of Melville.
