VELMA JOHNSON AIKEN
Funeral services for Velma Aiken will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the chapel of Hixson-
Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Bro. Charles Hutzler officiating. Burial will follow in the Episcopal Cemetery in Cheneyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mrs. Aiken, age 91 of Cheneyville, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
She was in the grocery business in Cheneyville for many years and always enjoyed visiting with everyone; she also enjoyed working in her yard.
She is preceded in death by her husband O.E. Aiken, Sr.; her parents, Manuel and Sally Campbell Johnson; and 6 siblings.
Survivors include her son, O.E. Aiken, Jr. of Alexandria; her daughter, Lola A. Miller of Alexandria; one brother, Roy Johnson of Tioga; a grandson, John Aiken of New Orleans; three granddaughters, Noel Fontane and her husband Dr. Robert Fontane of Alexandria, Holly Elizabeth Miller of Dallas and Rebecca Lynn Miller of Houston; and two great granddaughters, Isabella and Aubrey Fontane.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
