IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Shea
Berry
October 3, 1952 – August 1, 2021
A Graveside Service for Timothy Berry will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday August 7,2021 at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. David Trimbur officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Berry, age 68 of Evergreen, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Tim came to live in Goudeau in 1985 where he worked as an agricultural specialist with Russell Tanner, enjoying the rural lifestyle on Leo Morrow Rd. He was known to everyone as a man of humility with an excellent work ethic and a joyful heart. He frequently spoke of his children and missed them greatly while working the land. To know him, was to see a man committed not only to kindness, but long-sufferances, as he endured the effects of a life-altering hip injury from his high school football glory days. He displayed forbearance, as life's hardships forged a path for him to discover his true place in the history of the Avoyelles agricultural community as one of the most beloved and dedicated men to the trade.
He eventually found his way to the Clark Farm in Evergreen by the early 1990s, where he was employed by Claude and Emma Dean Clark and lived on their home place for many years. Other farms he tended were those of Ted and Karen Juneau, as well as Juneau's Peach Orchard. He worked Riche' Farms on Bayou Rouge with Tim and Jack Riche' where he had a kindred son in Jack's son, Jonathan. The Riche' farm would be the last farm he worked before retiring to a senior community. Though many of the Avoyelles acquaintances that he made have already departed this life before him, the farmers today remember him as a good friend who kept them laughing. In the fields of Avoyelles Parish, Tim found his peace, despite being in the midst of adversities. Now, he has departed this world for eternity where he will rest in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves behind a people who will never forget the contribution he made to their community, as well as the family for which he longed to see and loved with all of his heart.
Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Clark, Jonathan Riche', Mark Juneau, and Troy Juneau.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Lowery and Gwendolyn Sellers Berry.
Survivors include his daughters; Destiny Johnson and husband Shane of Bastrop and Jessica Williams and husband Scott of Spearsville; sons, Ronnie Berry and wife Charlene of Okeechobee, FL, and Matthew Berry and wife Maggie of Bastrop; his sister, Belva Berry Myles and husband John of Pearl River; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home, P.O. Box 420, Bunkie, LA 71322 to help with the Tim Berry funeral expenses.
