Visitation for Thomas Lachney will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum in Fifth Ward.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Lachney, age 78 of Hessmer, formerly of Baldwin, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Avoyelles Hospital.

Thomas worked as a crane operator in the sugar mills for many years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to deer hunt.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lachney; a daughter, Tracy Tyler; his parents, Lonis and Tessie Lachney; sisters, Lois Lacombe and Katherine Mayeux; and a brother, Marvin Lachney.

Survivors include a daughter, Marla McIntyre of MS; brother, Harold Lachney (Patricia) of Hessmer; and sister, Yvonne L. Dauzat of Hessmer; 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
