Thomas William Cason

February 19, 1943-May 16, 2025

Surrounded by loved ones, Thomas Cason peacefully went to be with his Lord and savior on May 16, 2025 at his home in Boerne, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Kirtman Cason, Sr. and Irene Parker Cason; and brother, John Kirtman Cason Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay Ellis Cason; his children, Wendy Gill (Dave) of Miramar Beach, FL , Amy Horton of Shreveport, LA, Russell Parnell of Pearland, TX, and Amy Dreiss (Lee) of Boerne, TX; his two sisters, Mary Ellen Hubbard of Big Cane and Vernie Merritt of Big Cane.  Tommy was proud to be the grandfather of eleven grandchildren and blessed with eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews.

He served four years in the United States Marine Corp., completing two tours in Viet Nam.  He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1970.

His career included multiple executive positions within the oil industry. Upon retiring as Chief Financial Officer of Baker Hughes, he was a founding owner/partner of Progressive Tractor & Implement.  He remained on the Board of Directors for several international companies until 2015.

He will always be loved and remembered as a loyal friend and respected mentor to many.

Visitation will be held this Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Graveside services will follow on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the Cason Family Cemetery in Big Cane

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
