Funeral services for Thelma Fontenot will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Wanustell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Palmetto Methodist Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Fontenot, age 99 of Temple, TX, formerly of Palmetto, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Cornerstones Garden in Temple, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Meyers and Lazyme Fontenot; her son, Jules Meyers; siblings, Odissa Leger, Ethel Brinkley, Allen Billodeau, James Billodeau, Benton Billodeau and Alcie Billodeau.

Survivors include her daughter, Thelma Lee Wylie and husband Charles of Belton, TX; sister, Lucille Goudeau; brother, Lawrence Billodeau; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 53 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
