STANLEY LEE MESSER, SR.

Funeral services for Stanley Messer, Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Bro. Donald Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Griffin Hills Cemetery in Lone Pine. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral of Bunkie.
Mr. Messer, age 71 of Lone Pine, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his residence.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Viola Giles Messer; a brother, Bobby Messer; a step-son, Audie Blood; and a step-grandson, Joshua Sparks.
Survivors include his wife; Lessie Book Messer of Lone Pine; three sons, Stanley Messer, Jr. and wife Angie of Glenmora, Ray Messer of Plaucheville, and Mark Messer and wife Sabrina of Forest Hill; four step-daughters, Deborah Blood Johnson and husband Richard of Prairieville, Cheryl Blood Sparks and husband Patrick of Lone Pine, Elizabeth Blood Manning and husband David of Jonesville, and Julie Blood Russ and husband Chris of Montgomery, TX; two brothers, Victor Messer and wife Velda, and Shelby Messer and wife Shizuko all of Forest Hill; 8 sisters, Yvonne Stockman and husband Tom, Mildred Vercher and husband Richard, Maxine Robinson and husband Harold, Joy Holloway and husband Gerald, Debra Meshell all of Forest Hill, Linda Pickering and husband Wayne of Hineston, Audrey McMahon and husband Calvin of Pine and Brenda Miller and husband Pete of Jacksonville, FL; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
