Funeral services for Sidney Fisher will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville with the Rev. Luke Lafleur officiating.  Burial will follow in the Big Cane Baptist Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mr. Fisher, age 71 of Plaucheville, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Sidney was an avid deer hunter and loved teaching his grandchildren all about the outdoors.  He spent many hours building knives and working with his hands.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Mansfield and Mae Jane Saucier Fisher.

He is survived by his loving wife, his everything, Louise Bordelon Fisher of Plaucheville; his children, Bruce David Fisher (Amy) of Natchitoches and Ashley F. Weatherford (Luke) of Plaucheville; his sisters, Vivian Helton of Mobile, AL and Nanette Fisher of Big Cane; and his grandchildren, Ian Weatherford, Cole Fisher, and Geneva Weatherford.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.
