A Memorial Service for Sheila Young will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Ms. Young, age 49 of Savannah, GA, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 in Savannah surrounded by loved ones.

Sheila enjoyed helping others any way she could. She always saw the good in people even when they only saw the bad. She loved to make other laugh at all cost. Definitely, a true definition of heaven on earth.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Aaron Lavalais, Sr. and Beatrice Williams; and her paternal grandparents, Martin and Clara Sampson.

Survivors include her children, Clyde Young, Jr. of Little Rock, AR, Shantasia Lavalais of Savannah, GA, and Miguel Evans of Savannah, GA; her granddaughter, Caidence Young of Little Rock; her parents, Landry (Lorraine) Sampson of Marksville and Elmary (Percy) Fulton of Bunkie; three sisters, Linda (Leandrey) Barfield of Bunkie, Carolyn (Robert) Washington of Little Rock and Tammy (Norris) Brown of Little Rock; two brothers, Christopher (Lillian) Sampson of Alexandria and Frederick Lavalais of Bunkie; former husband, John Roberts and fathers of her children, Clyde Young, Sr. and Willie Evans; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and nieces.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
