A Mass of Christian Burial for Sandra Mayeux will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Cemetery in Evergreen. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Mayeux, age 65 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Hessmer Nursing Home.

Sandra was the most loving, caring and unselfish person. She was a school bus driver for 12 years for Avoyelles Parish. She loved her little dog Bella Rose and working in her flower beds, enjoying the beautiful flowers it produced.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Lawrence Lemoine and Josephine Ducote Smith; and her daughter-in-law, Shelly Mayeux.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Charles Mayeux of Bunkie; her son, Charles Mayeux, Jr. of Bunkie; her daughter, Michelle M. Ferguson and husband Peter of Marksville; her brothers, Glenn Lemoine of Poland and Steve Lemoine and wife Jan of Evergreen; her grandchildren, Lacey Bordelon, Brandon Dupuy, Marissa Dupuy, Nick Dupuy, Haley Mayeux and James Mayeux; 10 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild; and her step-father, Eugene Smith.

Friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
