Russell Turner, age 69 of Evergreen, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Bayou Vista Community Care Center in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Russell loved his family, his motorcycles, camping, and day adventures with the love of his life since his retirement from hauling paper.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Harris Joseph and Alice Normand Turner; a brother, Robert Don “R.D.” Turner; and a sister, Margaret Turner Jeansonne.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Donna Nash Turner of Evergreen; his son, Brady Joseph Turner of Evergreen; two brothers, Michael Turner and wife Phyllis of Bunkie and Harris Turner, Jr. and wife Margie of Bunkie; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be held at a later date.
