RUFUS LEE FERGUSON, JR.

Funeral services for R.L. Ferguson will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home with the Bro. David Newton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Ferguson, age 76 of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Bayou Vista Nursing Home.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Lillie Smith Ferguson; a son, Jamie Lee Ferguson; his parents, Rufus Lee and Antoine Ponthier Ferguson; and his siblings, Antoine Norris, Leo Ferguson, Winnie Ann Ducote, and Rufus Lee Ferguson.

Survivors include three sons; Ricky Ferguson and his wife Tammy of Bunkie, Terry Ferguson and his wife Tricia of Bayou Chicot, and Rufus Lee Ferguson, III of Krotz Springs; one brother, Bill Ferguson of Bunkie; two sisters, Ruth Wiggins of Cottonport and Joycie Deville of Bunkie; 5 grandchildren, Derek Ferguson, Chance Ferguson, Daniel Ferguson and his wife Erica, Joshua Ferguson and his wife Brooke, and Chantel Ferguson; and five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Hayden, Gabe, Katherine, and Harley.

Friends may call from 5:00 pm. Until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be cited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
