ROY PAUL DUPONT
A Mass of Christian Burial for Roy Dupont will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Dupont, age 69 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Sabine Medical Center in Many.
Mr. Roy retired from the school system after 33 years. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Susie Grimms Dupont; his siblings, Joe Dupont, Bernadine Mayeux, Betty Toler, and Evelyn Cupid.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years; Lesley Shumaker Dupont of Bunkie; three sons, Jeffrey Dupont and his wife Carolyn of Moss Bluff; Kevin Dupont and his fiancé, Donna Manuel of TN; and Anthony Dupont and his wife Brook of Lafayette; one brother, Leslie Dupont and his wife Barbara of Batchelor; one sister, Virginia Mancuso of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Savannah, Alexandra, Calli, Kevin, Jr., Whitney, Kenneth and Reese; and his great-grandson, Wyatt.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 on Thursday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be cited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
