Funeral services for Rose Smith will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with Bro. Michael Ziegler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bayou Jacque Pentecostal Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Smith, age 86 of Gonzales, formerly of Bayou Jacque, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Lake Ascension.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Smith, Sr.; son Raymond Smith; a daughter, Emily Smith; her parents, Isaac Raymond and Honorine Leger Seilhan; siblings, Sue Miller, Shelton Seilhan and Tiny Seilhan.

Survivors include her children; Johnnie Smith, Jr. (Cathy) of Conroe, TX, Cheryl Smith (Michael Mitchell) of Head of Island, LA, and David Smith (Jinea) of Lake Charles; siblings, John Raymond Seilhan and Elnora Mae Miller; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
