A Mass of Christian Burial for Roger Lambert will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow with military honors in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Hessmer.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Lambert, age 87 of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at his residence.

Roger served in the Army National Guard and the United States Air Force.  He retired from Piggly Wiggly after many years as store manager and was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Roger was a devout Catholic who loved his family and family time. You could find him spending weekends watching LSU or the Saints with his family and friends being an occasional armchair quarterback. He was known to have the best bbq chicken. His garden and yard were his hobbies. It didn't take much to catch him off guard and scare him, then he would laugh it off. He loved animals, especially his grand dog Rocky.

Roger also loved to dance. He and Earline could be seen dancing any chance they got. They had a love that spilled out to the dance floor. After a hard day's work on Saturday, he would reward the kids with a box of cracker jacks when he got home. This was his Saturday night routine. Roger was the epitome of a hard-working family man that his children and grandchildren looked up to and will miss dearly.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Earline Jeansonne Lambert; a son, Troy Lambert; granddaughter, Holly Lambert; and his parents, Lloyd and Ethel Normand Lambert.

Survivors include his children, Alfred Lambert and wife Kerri of Bunkie, Peggy Gauthier and husband Leon of Bunkie and Sandy Gauthier and husband Randy of Bunkie; his brother, Floyd Lambert and wife Wanda of Bunkie; his grandchildren, Olivia Vasquez, Alfred Lambert, Jr., Justin Lambert, Sarah Taylor, Lee Lambert, Dylan Gauthier, Devin Gauthier, Shelby Gauthier, Brady Gauthier, Rylan Colon, Tyler Colon, and Kaylie Lassiegne; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
