Funeral services for Roger Blood will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with Bro. Daniel Holsomback officiating.  Burial will follow in the Griffin Hills Cemetery in Lone Pine.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Blood, age 75 of St. Landry, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Bunkie.

Roger, a retired minister, loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. He will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Linda Douget Blood; his parents, Earl and Erna Carnahan Blood; grandchildren, Trevor Vidrine and Lindsley Vidrine; and siblings, Charles Willis Blood, Kenneth Wayne Blood, James Blood, Claudnell Blood and Elsie Mae Blood.

Survivors include his children: Tammy B. Vidrine and husband Paul of Lone Pine, Melissa B. Bernal and husband Phillip of Bayou Chicot, Roger D. Blood, Jr. and wife Frances of Turkey Creek and Joshua Blood and husband Logan of Bunkie; brothers, Nolan Blood of Monroe, Curtis Blood of Bayou Chicot, and Ralph Blood of Lone Pine; his grandchildren, Ashton Vidrine, Michaela Vidrine, Nathaniel Bernal, Veronica Loftus, Tiffany Normand, Elizabeth Blood, Emma Blood and Nick Blood; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
