A Mass of Christian Burial for Roderick Laborde will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. John Wiltse officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mr. Laborde, age 79 of Mansura, formerly of Cottonport, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the Valley View Nursing Home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mabel Francois Laborde; brothers, Floyd Laborde, Raymond Laborde, Gaston Laborde, Donald Laborde and Dale Laborde; and a sister, Barbara Guillory.

Survivors include his children; Donna Harris, Bunkie, Veronica Goudeau, Plaucheville, Sarah Neal (Thomas) of Mansura, Laura Denton (Marion) of Mansura, Cora Beth Aguillard of Mansura, Kim Laborde of Mansura, Stacy Laborde of Cottonport, Tracy Laborde of Hessmer and Rocky Laborde of Cottonport; his companion, Sandy Grivette of Mansura; two brothers, Paul Laborde and Wayne Laborde; two sisters, Betty Normand and Pauline Landry; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include:  Austin Laborde, George Harris, Jr., Jace Aguillard, Marion Denton, Chris Neal and Josh Dauzat.

Friends may visit on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.
