Graveside services for Bob Rivers will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2022 at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery with Bro. John Spann officiating.  Burial will follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Rivers, age 97 of Bunkie, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Hessmer Nursing Home.

Mr. Rivers was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.  He was the parts manager at Rabalais Truck and Tractor for 20 years and the owner of Farmers Discount Center and Bob's Garden Center.  He had a love for woodworking and plants.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nedra Abney Rivers, whom his heart ached for every day.

Survivors include his children; Robert Rivers, Jr. and wife Linda of Marion, AR, David Glenn Rivers and wife Michelle of Hessmer, Judy Rivers of Hessmer, Allen Todd Rivers and wife Lisa of Sunset and Gordon Ray Rivers and wife Greta of Baton Rouge; a brother, Billy Rivers of Mineral Wells, TX; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
