Robert Daniel Poole, Jr., age 57, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his farm on Bayou Road in Cheneyville, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Robert was a Producer – owner of Poole's Produce Farm for 10 years. He loved his farm and was excellent at what he did. Working the soil and growing things were his passion. He grew up in a farm family and was with his Dad on the farm at an early age. He also loved his Tuesday and Wednesday night poker games at the casino with his poker buddies.
He was a graduate (1975) of South Rapides Academy and attended LSUA. He was Vice President of the Louisiana Vegetable Association for the last several years. Robbie, as everyone called him, was the 2012 Corn Farmer of the Year. Robbie could figure out just about anything and fix it also.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lydia J. Poole; his sons, who he adored, Rusty Poole, Mark and Matthew Poole and his grand dog Maggie; his mother, Jane G. Poole of Cheneyville; brothers, David Poole, Richard Poole, Michael Poole, and Bill Poole (Jackie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Poole, Sr.

He was loved dearly by his wife and sons and will sorely be missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
