A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Vidrine will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in St. Landry.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Vidrine, age 75 of Lone Pine, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Elwood, Sr. and Carrine Fontenot Guillory; grandchildren, Trevor and Lindsley Vidrine, great-grandson, Connor Kemp and daughter-in-law Sherri Rae Vidrine.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Shelton Vidrine of Lone Pine; her children, Yvette V. Dartez (Randy) of Kaplan, Paul Vidrine (Tammy) of Lone Pine and Jason Vidrine (Ginny Juneau) of Cheneyville; brother, Elwood Guillory, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Cottonport; sisters, Cynthia Gaspard (Danny) of Baton Rouge, Janice Basco (Tommy) of Centerville and Lisa Guillory of Bunkie; grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Evan, Ashton, Michaela, Victoria, Jacob and Cody and 8 great-grandchildren.

Rita's love for her children was unconditional and complete.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure.  If she loved you, she fed you.  She never cooked a small meal for her family.  There was always too much but she loved us and loved feeding us.

Rita lived a life of service to her family, taking care of not only Lisa, but all of us.  She kept us covered in prayers.  Her belief in God and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was unshakable.

She was dearly loved, will be forever missed and leaves us with an undeniable void in our lives and our hearts.

Friends may visit on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Pallbearers are Ashton Vidrine, Brandon Dartez, Evan Dartez, Jacob Vidrine, Cody Vidrine and Harley Meyers.
