Funeral services for Philip Melancon, Sr. will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.  Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mr. Melancon, age 79 of Duson, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at The Ellington of Rayne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul L. and Augustine M. Hebert Melancon and his brother, Paul "Sonny" Melancon.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leola Lemoine Melancon of Duson; his sons, Philip Melancon, Jr. and wife Casey of Scott and Stephen M. Melancon and wife Valerie of Mandeville; grandchildren, Hannah Regan (Jeremy), and Philip Melancon, III (Jerica); and great-grandchildren, Rowen Melancon and River Melancon.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.
