Perle Guillot Galland

Perle, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died surrounded by her family at the Hessmer Nursing Home on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the age of 94. Perle was born in Moncla, Louisiana and was a resident of Evergreen, Louisiana and a graduate of Bunkie High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ozamae Francis Galland, Jr. and her parents Euclid Guillot and Clara Gaspard Guillot. She is survived by her five children: Georgie Gremillion-Dauzat (Evergreen, LA), Ronald Galland (Donaldsonville, LA), Susan Moreau (Baton Rouge), Cynthia Cappel (Houston, TX), and Stephen Galland (Houston, TX); 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by 11 siblings: Clinton, Flora, Florian, Annie, Doremus, Emelie, Rosa, Celestine, Osvald, Harry, and Alice; and 3 half brothers Ted, Collin and Curt.

She was a devout member of the Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Evergreen, where she served as Lector and Extraordinary Minister and as an Altar Society member. She was an active volunteer for the Silver Society, Bunkie General Hospital, and the Evergreen Civic League.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Church of the Little Flower in Evergreen with Rev. Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. w
