Paul "Cooney" Hardy, age 82 of Bunkie, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his residence.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Hardy owned and operated Hardy's Slaughter House and Dirt Work for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crawfishing, working in his garden and cutting grass.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Linda Firmin Hardy; his parents, Curtis and Edna Cox Hardy; and siblings, Marvin Hardy, Earl Hardy, Elaine Patterson, Bobby Jean and Doris Loggins.

Survivors include his two sons, Anthony Hardy and wife Dawn of Bunkie and Ronnie Hardy and wife Karen of Bunkie; siblings, Marlin Hardy of Center, TX, Jimmy Hardy of San Augustine, TX, Jo Trahan of Lafayette, Diane Wiley of San Augustine, TX and Opal Hayden of Center, TX; his grandchildren, Sarah Hebert, Marlee Hardy, Maycie Hardy, Ethan Hardy and Melanie Hardy; and his great-grandchildren, Rylee Dalgo, Chad Michael Landry and MaLeah Hardy.
