Funeral services for Patricia Miller will be held on Wednesday morning, February 9, 2022 at the Morrow Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Housley officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Miller, age 82 of Morrow, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home.

Patricia Simpson married Frankie Miller 62 years ago close to home at Morrow Baptist Church.  Close friends would say she was a very sweet person who was always willing to help others.  Pat had a life-long interest in genealogy and would hunt down information like Sherlock Holmes, leaving no stone unturned.  She also loved reading for hours, especially John Grisham crime novels, only equaled by her love of gardening.  She always had beautiful day lilies surrounding her yard and could tell you the name of most plants.  As the family grew, using her collection of electronic gadgets, she found new ways to chat with her children and grandkids – who knew her as Nanny.  Her newest challenges involved conquering the internet along with its technology glitches.  In her past she worked for her church, often teaching Sunday School and playing piano for services.  She believed in the mission of the church and worked tirelessly to achieve it.  She looked forward to her daily exercise class as social time to chat with the girls.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Morton and Lucia Gautreaux Simpson and sisters, Georgiana Carter and Dorothy Phillips.

Survivors include her husband; Frankie E. Miller, Sr. of Morrow; her children, Melissa Sussman and husband Gary of Denver, CO, Frankie E. Miller, Jr. and wife Deanna of Shreve, OH, Rebecka June and husband David of Seattle, WA and Michael Miller and wife Fredericka of New Orleans; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will include:  Mike Noble, Brian Phillips, Christopher Jones, Matt Cormier, Jimmy Carter and Gary Sussman.

Friends may visit on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morrow Baptist Church.
