ORELIA JEANSONNE REED
Funeral service for Orelia Reed will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Orelia Jeansonne Reed passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2010 at the age of 91, at the Bayou Vista Nursing Home. She was born on November 2, 1919.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Reed; her parents, Elton and Matilda Jeansonne; a special friend, Lucky Thrasher, brothers, J.E. Jeansonne and Earl Jeansonne; and a sister, Theda Riche.
Survivors include one brother, J.P. Jeansonne of Bunkie; and a sister, Betty Lou Gongre of Plaquemine.
The family wish to send a special thanks to; Debra Blood who looked up to Orelia as a mother and took special care of her; to Delores Jeansonne who is a special niece and a great helper to her and all the family members; and also to the staff at Bayou Vista Nursing Home.
