OLIVER EDWARD AIKEN, SR.
Funeral service for Oliver Aiken will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Bro. Charles Hutzler officiating. Burial will follow in the Episcopal Cemetery in Cheneyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Aiken, age 92 of Cheneyville, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
Mr. Aiken was a World War II Veteran where he served in the U.S. Army. He was also the owner of Aiken's Grocery for twenty-five years and a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Johnson Aiken of Cheneyville; one son, Oliver Edward Aiken, Jr. of Alexandria; one daughter, Lola Gay Aiken Miller of Alexandria; his grandchildren, Rebecca Miller, Noel Aiken Fontaine, Holly Miller Haydel, and John Aiken; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
