A Mass of Christian Burial for Olive Gremillion will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Olive Gremillion entered the heavenly arms of our Lord Jesus Christ at 2:15 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Mrs. Gremillion was born in Mansura, LA on January 17, 1932, to Charles and Viola Moreau Lemoine. She graduated from Bunkie High School and married Louis C. (LC) Gremillion. They were married for 49 years and blessed with six children. She was recently honored with a party celebrating her 90 th birthday with family and friends.
Mrs. Gremillion attended business school in Cincinnati, OH where she and LC lived for a brief time. They spent the remainder of their time together in Bunkie, LA and were lifelong members of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society for St Anthony and served as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for 54 years. Mrs. Gremillion worked for Dr. John Lindsey in Bunkie as a dental technician for several years and also for Bunkie General Hospital in the rehabilitation center for 26 years.
Mrs. Gremillion was an avid reader and a loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers for many years. She also enjoyed working on her flower beds as a neat and colorful lawn was very important to her. Her culinary skills were quite impressive and she was always willing to share her wonderful recipes with friends and family.
Mrs. Gremillion is survived by two brothers, Jarod Lemoine of Atlanta, GA and Lee Lemoine of Port Neches, TX. She is also survived by her daughters, Patricia (David) Deaton of Melissa, TX, Susan (Jon) Sedoryk of Colorado Springs, CO, Brenda Lemoine of Clearwater, FL and Ginger Robichaux of Baton Rouge, LA, and her sons, Jack (Jean) Gremillion of Baton Rouge, LA and Stephen (Rachel) Gremillion of Bunkie, LA.
She is survived by 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren that were the light of her world. The grandchildren are Holly Harris, David Deaton II, William Deaton, Andrea Sedoryk, Samuel Sedoryk, Buck (Angie)Lemoine, Kimberly Gremillion, Kelsey Gremillion, Olivia Gremillion and Mason Gremillion, Julia Gremillion (Jon) Bryn, Annie Gremillion, Stephen (Blakely) Gremillion II, Camille Robichaux, Sophie Robichaux, Val Robichaux, Eva Robichaux and Ella Robichaux. Her great grandchildren are Reese Hadley, Hayes Campisi, Lillie Kay Bryn , and Jonathan Bryn.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Viola Lemoine, her husband, Louis C. Gremillion, her sister Amy Gale and her brothers, Charles Lemoine, Jr, Larry Lemoine, Jennings Lemoine, Wilbert Lemoine and Harry Lemoine.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
