Funeral services for Norbert Ducote will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino, V.G. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Cemetery in Mansura. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Ducote, age 78 of Mansura, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

He retired from McKinney Towing as a tug boat operator after 25 plus years. Upon retiring he was awarded the Key to Baton Rouge for his service. He lived for his grandchildren, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Ducote is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Rachal; his parents, Cecil and Marjorie Jeansonne Ducote; sisters, Patricia Valois, Mona Benavidez, and Judy Gaspard; and a brother, Terry Ducote.

Survivors include two sons, Shane Ducote and his wife Geraldine of Prairieville, and Shannon Ducote and his wife Pilar of Maurice; two daughters, Ethel LaGrange and husband Bradley of Marksville and Penny Doty and husband Robert of Lafayette; one brother, Mason Ducote of Mansura; one sister, Virgin Daigrepont of Hessmer; his grandchildren, Gregory Ducote, Nicholas Ducote, Phillip Ducote, Cameron Ducote, Jason Quebedeaux, Casey Hollander, Brittney LaGrange, Morgan Doty and Ron Dupuis; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Ducote, Peyton Hollander and Reid Hollander.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a wake service at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
