NETTIE MAE THOMAS HAYS
Nettie Mae Thomas Hays, 82, died Wednesday at Opelousas General Hospital. Nettie was born, November 2, 1927 in Clarksdale, Miss.
A lifelong resident of Clarksdale, she spent the last six years in Bunkie, La. under the loving care of her daughter, Lucy Hays Wright.
Nettie is survived by her daughter, Lucy, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Wright DeLaney, 31, Benjamin Nichols Wright, 26, and her newborn great-granddaughter, Lucy Pearce DeLaney.
She was preceded in death in by her husband, Benjamin Nichols Hays.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Oakridge Cemetery by Dr. Bobby Douglas, interim pastor, at Clarksdale Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member. Arrangements were under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
