A Mass of Christian Burial for Nell Jeansonne will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Msgr. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Cottonport.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Jeansonne, age 86 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Hessmer Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Jeansonne; her parents, Cilton and Rosalie Mayeux Galland; her sister, Mary Ellen Dixon; and a brother, Jessie Galland.

Survivors include her children; Brenda J. Aymond (Erroll) of Bunkie, Carl Jeansonne (Crystal) of Evergreen, Dr. Karen J. Williams (Tommy) of Alexandria and Dr. Chad Jeansonne of Bunkie; a brother, Lacy Galland (Patty) of Cottonport; her grandchildren, Nicole Blood, Michael Aymond, Kayla Sanders, Jarred Williams, Lindsey Rini and Chance Jeansonne; 9 great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Pallbearers will include:  Carl Jeansonne, Chad Jeansonne, Michael Aymond, Jarred Williams, Grady Galland, and Collin Galland.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 13 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
