MYRTLE ORTEGO TURNER

Funeral services for Myrtle Turner will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mrs. Turner, age 88 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Bayou Vista Nursing Home.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Roland Turner; a son, Raymond Turner; her parents, Sidney and Elma Fontenot Ortego; brothers, Nathan Ortego, Sylvan Ortego, William Sidney Ortego, II; sister, Mary Icie Thibodeaux; and great-grandchild, Lindsey Couvillion.
Survivors include one son, Scotty Turner and his wife Rose Ann of Broussard; one daughter, Linda Guillory and her husband Steve of Marksville; a daughter-in-law, Linda Turner Willett of Bunkie; two brothers, John Ortego of Ville Platte and Burke Ortego of Missouri; three sisters, Ethel Soileau of Ville Platte, Norma Huguet of Opelousas, and Doris Carter of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Kane Couvillion, Kyle Couvillion, Wesley Turner, Kristen Brown, Jeffery Turner, Kevin Turner, Mark Turner, Dwight Turner and Abigail Turner; her great grandchildren, Laken Couvillion, Lynden Couvillion, Seth Couvillion, Lauren Turner, Camille Turner, Cameron Turner, Benjamin Turner, Logan Turner, Landon Turner, Lawson Turner, Charlotte Brown, Kohl Brown, Harrison Turner and Kate Turner; and her great-great-grandson, Levi Turner.
