Funeral services for Mildred Ortego will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Rev. Joseph Desmoine officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral HOme of Bunkie.

Ms. Ortego, age 75 of Bunkie, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Bayou Vista Nursing Home in Bunkie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Euwell and Mary Lou Vidrine Ortego; a brother, Joseph Nelton Ortego; a niece, Sandra Faye Ortego; and a nephew, James Earl Troha.

Survivors include a brother, John B. Ortego and his wife Doris of Washington and a sister, Agnes Landry and her husband Robert of Hessmer; one niece and 4 nephews.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
