Mattie Virginia "Ms. Jennie" Hetherwick LeJeune Corbin

Funeral services for Mattie Corbin will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home with the Bro. Norwood Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Jocoby Baptist Cemetery in Jacoby, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Corbin, age 85 of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at her residence.

Ms. Jennie loved working in her garden and also sewing quilts for sick children.

She is preceded in death by her first husband; Dawson LeJeune; her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Martha Victoria Smith Hetherwick; a brother, Eugene Hetherwick; and two sisters, Myrna Chivers and Edna Coursey.

Survivors include her husband; Richard Corbin of Bunkie; one son, Leon LeJeune of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Martha LaCour of New Roads; one brother, Benjamin Hetherwick of Jacoby; her grandchildren, Annie, Catherine, Caroline, George and Christian; and her great-grandchidlren, Owen and Abigail.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
