Mary Carmello Holston
Funeral services for Mary Carmello Holston will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Church of the Little Flower in Evergreen, with the Rev. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

A native of Lemoyen and a resident of Evergreen, Mrs. Holston, age 95, lost her battle with cancer and went to eternal rest on Thursday August 7, 2014 at her residence. She was a retiree of the Avoyelles Parish School Board.

She was the beloved wife of the late Burt Holston, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Marrino Carmello and sister to the late Julia Ribera, Reitha Atilano, Katherine Leger, Betty Kimball, Johnnie, Joe and Floyd Carmello.

Survivors include her sisters; Lena Meche, JoAnn Lipoma and Ruby Carmello; a special niece, Mary Lee Firmin along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family wishes to thank Jan and Steve Lemoine and Julia Ann Spencer whom were special to her and took great care of her. Also a special thanks to All Saints Hospice, Debra, Juanita, Bridgett, Gayle, Mary Ellen and Lisa for the excellent care they gave Ms. Mary.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home in Bunkie with a rosary being cited at 6:30 p.m. and then again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Little Flower in Evergreen.
