IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Grace
Fontenot O'Quin
March 2, 1935 – September 12, 2025
We find comfort in the words of Jesus: "I go to prepare a place for you… that where I am, there you may be also" — John 14:2–3.
Mary Grace O'Quin, 90, was joyfully welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 12, 2025.
Better known to everyone as "MawMaw," she spent her life creating a home filled with love, devotion, laughter, and delicious home-cooked meals. She was a shining example of Christ, living with selflessness, compassion, generosity, and tender, unconditional love.
MawMaw would prepare your favorite dish with a smile—whether or not she knew you were coming, and whether or not you were hungry. Her home was a safe sanctuary for all who entered.
When her earthly journey was completed, her priest came to give her final blessings. Within minutes, she peacefully passed in the arms of her daughter. We could all hear His voice in our hearts, telling MawMaw: "Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your master" — Matthew 25:23.
MawMaw's beautiful legacy of love lives on through her three children: Michael (Tracey) O'Quin, Melia (Clarence) Book, and Toni (Luke) Coreil; 17 grandchildren: Jessica (Tommy), Mikey, Brittani (Ben), Skip (Liz), Josh (April), Adrienne (Quentin), Stefan, Abby (Kagen), Morgan, Jacob, and Ethan; and 17 great-grandchildren.
As Mother Teresa once said, "A life not lived for others is not a life," and this was the truth of MawMaw—her life was fully devoted to loving and serving others, a legacy that will never be forgotten.
