Funeral services for Marvin Gauthier will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the David Haas Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Hoover officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Gauthier, age 79 of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his residence.

Marvin was an avid outdoors man, loving to hunt and fish. He had a tremendous sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Marvin will be remembered for being a generous man with a kind heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Willard "Nan" and Myrtle Wilson Gauthier; his son-in-law, Chuck Bigum; and two brothers, Bryan Gauthier and Mark Gauthier.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rose Nagy Gauthier of Bunkie; his daughter, Marvalene G. Bigum of Hessmer; his grandchildren, Keith Milligan of Hessmer and Samantha Bigum of Hessmer; his siblings, Wayne Gauthier (Susan) of Deville, Sharlene G. Ford of Marksville, Willard J. Gauthier, Jr. (Freda) of Clinton, Rickey Gauthier (Debbie) of GA, Myra Jeansonne (Joel) of Moreauville and Lisa G. Blair of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the David Haas Memorial Methodist Church.
