Funeral services for Marvin E. Gauthier will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Bro. Bryan Canup officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Gauthier, age 79 of Bunkie, passed away at his daughters' home in Vidalia on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

TT retired from M.D. Descant Construction after 38 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his son, Davy Gauthier; a daughter Nacy Guillot; a granddaughter, Olivia Gauthier; his parents, Euris and Lily Redmond Gauthier; brothers, Ervin Gauthier, Clyde Gauthier, Russell Gauthier, and Ray Gauthier; sisters, Ella Mae Mitchell and Cherlyne G. Armand.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, LouAnn Ducote Gauthier of Bunkie; daughters, Lisa Siffert (Andrew) of St. Landry, Tavia Ducote (Blaine) of St. Landry and Karen Kemp (Brian) of Vidalia; sister, Myrtle Lemoine of Simmesport; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
