MARCUS ANTHONY BORDELON

Funeral services for Marcus Bordelon will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Mausoleum in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Bordelon, age 76 of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Opelousas General Hospital.
Mr. Marcus retired from Pelican Homestead after 30 years of service and then retired from teaching in the Jumonville Educational System in 1998.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Vanchiere Bordelon; and his parents, Lucius and Odyle Gauthier Bordelon.
Survivors include four sons; Greg Bordelon and wife Joanne of Phoenix, AZ, Jody Bordelon and wife Lora of Denham Springs, Rusty Bordelon and wife Vicky of Bunkie, and Chris Bordelon of Phoenix, AZ; his daughter, Renee Bordelon of Bunkie; a brother, Steve Bordelon and wife Renee of Alexandria; a sister, Elaine Roy and husband John of Lecompte; a special friend, Mary Ann Lemoine of Bunkie; his grandchildren, Dustin, Shane, Michael, Sean, Miranda, Brittany, Brandon, and Sarah; his great-grandchildren, Josiah, Lillian, Karleigh, Haylee, Raegan, Hunter, Treyton, and Victoria; lots of nieces, nephews, grand dogs and great-grand dogs including but not limited to Priscilla Sue II.
Pallbearers will include: Brandon Bordelon, Ryan Thames, Troy Kling, J.T. Kennedy, Craig McCoy and Garrett McCoy; honorary pallbearer, Hunter Bordelon.
Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be cited by the Knights of Columbus along with a Eulogy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A gathering will follow the funeral on Wednesday at the family's residence.
