A Mass of Christian Burial for Lurry Normand will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Church of the Little Flower in Evergreen with the Rev. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Normand, age 84 of Evergreen, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He is a retired farmer and rancher. He loved growing his produce and his peaceful time was spent with his cattle.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Vivian Desselle Normand; his parents, Emeric and Frances Mayeux Normand; an infant son; sister, Remmie Bordelon; brothers, Simms Normand and Reese Normand, Sr.; grandchildren, Jerry Mayeux, Brandon Russell Normand, and Judith V. Courville.

Survivors include four sons, Gerald A. Normand of Evergreen, Kent Normand of Goudeau, Bryan D. Normand and wife Cheri of Alexandria, and Brandon Normand of Evergreen; two daughters, Sandra Armand and husband Harold of Evergreen and Crystal J. Normand of Evergreen; step-children, John Allan Landry,Brent Joseph Landry, Sr., and Brenda Jo Courville; grandchildren, Kristi Siebeneicher, Chad Normand, Greg Normand, Curtis Armand, Ty Armand, Amy Normand, Logan Moore, Cheyenne Moore, Travis Normand, Caden Normand, Kelsey Normand and Kylie Faul; step grandchildren, Brittany Pennison, Karli, Brent I, and Hollie Lynn Landry, Annie, Emily and Jacob Mayeux, Mitzi, Blake, Ciji, and Hunter Courville; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony Knights of Columbus Council #2395, P.O. Box 223, Bunkie, LA 71322 for the KC Hall window project.
