Funeral services for Louis Lamar Bordelon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Laird officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum in Plaucheville.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mr. Bordelon, age 83 of Cottonport, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.

Mr. Bordelon was a retired schoolteacher after 34 years. He served 8 years in the United States Air Force, was a member of the American Legion, Woodman of the World Chapter 436, and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2142.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Edna Gremillion Bordelon; a brother, Raymond James Bordelon; and a sister, Celeste Lemoine.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Vera Guillory Bordelon of Cottonport; his daughters, Michelle B. Tigner of Plaucheville and Debra B. Whitmore and husband James of Plaucheville; a brother, Paul Wayne "Babe" Bordelon and wife Patsy of Dupont; and his grandson Jacob Whitmore.

Friends may visit on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.
