Lori Ann Christal Johnson, 61 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Lori was born November 3, 1963 in Little Rock, AR where she attended Central High School. After moving to Bunkie, LA with her family, she attended Cottonport Technical School, obtaining her LPN license. Lori's most coveted titles, however, were mother and grandmother.
Lori will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling and loved Mardi Gras and visiting New Orleans with friends and family. Her dedication to bringing loved ones together for holidays and special occasions was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her warm smile, sense of humor and comforting presence will be missed.
Lori is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, John Anthony Johnson; two sons, Alan Chatman (Ashley), David Anthony Johnson (Robin), and her only daughter Nicole Angelle Johnson Matthews (Marshall III); her 8 grandchildren, Laney Chatman, Maggie Chatman, Lucy Chatman, Andrew Chatman, Carter Matthews, Annie Matthews, Reid Matthews and Stella Rae Johnson.
She also leaves behind her mother, Lynda Christal and two sisters, Terry Lynn Johnson and Heather Blood, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family members and dear friends.
Lori is preceded in death by her father, Terry Christal.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sweekriti Adhikari, the oncology floor at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Alaina with Bunkie Home Care Agency, and special family members, Josh Blood and Logan Blood for the care and compassion shown to Lori and her family these last three years.
Friends may visit on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
