Obituary

Funeral services for Lisa Catanese will beheld at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Church in Evergreen, with Bro. Lisa Blunck Catanese, 52, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2022, surrounded by family after a brief illness. A native of Baton Rouge, Lisa never met a stranger. Her contagious laughter and love of life was ever-present and she made everyone around her feel loved.

She graduated with two associates degrees from Baton Rouge Community College and worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for many different businesses, including her last employer Securetec. An avid gamer, she honed her skills as a game tester for EA Sports immediately following graduation.

She was a voracious reader, a lover of LSU baseball, movies, traveling, and being surrounded by friends and family.

She is survived by the love of her life, of 32 years, Christopher J. Catanese, their daughters Courtney Elizabeth (Bryan D. Dyson) and Alyssa Michelle, granddaughter Layla Elizabeth Dyson (her pee-pie), mother and stepfather Peggy V. and George J. Pourciau, Jr., grandmother Mercedes Abney Terry, brother Kevin D. Blunck (Carolina), sister Melanie Blunck Roussel (Ryan), half-brother Jason R. Blunck (Catie), step-brother Gerald A. Pourciau, mother-in-law Elizabeth H. Catanese, sister-in-law Beth C. Ford, sister by choice Beth F. Jones (Bradley) and numerous aunts and uncles. She especially doted on her nieces, nephews, and "adopted" children.

She was preceded in death by her father Douglas R. Blunck and father-in-law Joseph A. Catanese, and grandparents Georgia Elizabeth and Herman R. Blunck and George V. "Pickle" Terry.

Friends may visit on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Bayou Rouge Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
