A Catholic Mass with a Christian Burial for Mr. Leon "Cookie" Jeansonne will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home, of Bunkie

Mr. Jeansonne, age 80 a local barber of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Jeansonne; his son, James Peter Jeansonne; and his parents, Alvin Jeansonne and Esther Jusselin Jeansonne.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Duplechin Jeansonne of Bunkie; and his brother-in-law, C.J. Duplechin of Baton Rouge, his brother, Rodney Jeansonne and wife Mary Ellen Armand Jeansonne of Alexandria; and sister, Diane Jeansonne Dufour of Mansura.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
