Funeral services celebrating the life of Leola Melancon will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.  Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Plaucheville.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mrs. Melancon, passed away at the age of 79, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at The Ellington in Rayne.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Melancon, Sr.; her parents, Foster and Dora Bell Couvillion Lemoine; and a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Betty Lemoine.

Survivors include her two sons, Philip Melancon and wife Casey of Scott and Stephen Melancon and wife Valerie of Mandeville; her siblings, Patricia Santolucito of Lake Charles, Susan Haney (Michael) of Lake Charles, Kerry Lemoine (Nat) of Plaucheville, Mary Mayeux (Ronald) of Plaucheville, Gerard Lemoine (Pam) of Plaucheville and Debra Lemoine (Ray) of Moreauville; her grandchildren, Hannah Regan (Jeremy) and Philip Melancon, III (Jerica); and her great-grandchildren, Rowen Melancon and River Melancon.

Friends may visit on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

A repass will be held afterwards for the children, grandchildren, siblings and spouses and their children.
