KIFFIE BASCO
Funeral services for Kiffie Basco will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Johnson and Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the Griffin Hills Cemetery in Lone Pine. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Basco, age 94, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Basco served in the United State Army. He was a World War II veteran where he served 15 months in the European Theater of Operations. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, German Occupation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal along with several other awards.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Basco; his parents, Thomas and Corrine Basco; a grandson, Leighton Basco; and a great-grandson, Scotty Leger.
Survivors include his daughter, Juanita Buxton of Pine Prairie; three sons, Frank Shadrick and his wife Judy of Turkey Creek, Darwin Basco and his wife Lee of St. Francisville, and Thomas Basco and his wife Janice of St. Landry; 7grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. on Sunday until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Centerville Baptist.
