KENNETH RAY "DOOTSIE" HOWARD

Funeral services for Dootsie Howard will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeal Home with the Bro. David Broussard, Brian Johnson and Bob Braly officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrow Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Howard, age 56 of Goudeau, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 in Lebeau.

Dootsie had a passion for restoring old tractors, loved drag races and motorcycles. He had a love for people and wasn't judgmental of anyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Jesse Walter and Helen Gullett Howard; and his twin sister, Catherine Ann Howard.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years; Kellie Ryder Howard of Goudeau; a daughter, Brittany Lynn McCullen and her husband Joseph of Grenada, MS; three brothers, Donald Howard and his wife Nancy of Bunkie, Ronald Howard and his wife Cynthia of Goudeau and William B. Howard of Goudeau; two sisters, Billie Ann Howard Marcotte and her husband Joseph of Big Cane and Peggy Howard Deaton and her husband Steven of Oakland, TN; nieces, Catherine Page , Jessica Soileau, Jaclyn Soileau, Lauren Marcotte Melancon, Hannah Howard and Jacintha Howard; nephew: Bryant Marcotte; great nieces, Nalon Soileau, Courtney Page; and great nephew: Aaron Page.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Dootsie's memory to the Avoyelles Firefighter Relief Fund, 192 Burke Rd., Hessmer, LA 71341.
