A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Judy Young will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Msgr. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Young, 83 of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center.

Judy was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and she and her husband Mike owned and operated the Katfish Kitchen in Eola for 42 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Young, Sr.; and her parents, Dallas and Mary Hebert Penn.

Survivors include her two children, Mike Young, Jr. and wife Tesa of Broussard and Jennifer Barbry and husband Brent of Marksville; her grandchildren, Shannon Meyers (Courtney), Wesley Ducote, Shelby Henderson (Taylor) and Brent Barbry, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Lani, Evan, Jase, Kyle, Brent, III and Tucker.

Friends may visit on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
