A Mass of Christian Burial for Josh Borrel will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Charlie Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Borrel, age 46 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Summer Strother Borrel of Bunkie; his parents; Johnny and Denise Edwards Borrel of Cottonport; his siblings, Shelly Lemoine (Brent) of Livonia, John Borrel of Cottonport and Judd Borrel (Sonya Olinde) of Youngsville; father-in-law, Wayne Strother of Bunkie and 4 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include: Hunter Lemoine, Blumes Lemoine, Matthew Scallan, Judd Borrel, John Borrel and John Dennis Borrel. Honorary pallbearers include; Brent Lemoine and Wayne Strother.

Friends may visit on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. with a rosary at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
